Commentary: Trump’s Win Is a Victory for American Prosperity and Practical Energy Solutions

Donald Trump’s win is a big victory for the American energy industry and for all Americans. The climate crazed don’t want to recognize the fact that more than 80% of the world’s energy comes from fossil fuels – coal, oil, and natural gas. They don’t want to admit that the use of all three are at record highs and are continuing to grow. Or that a thriving economy needs reliable, affordable, and abundant energy. Because the cost of energy is built into everything that we do, consume or use, even watching Netflix.

False climate fear has been used to drive very destructive, expensive energy policies. Trump recognizes this is a  waste of money. Germany, Denmark, and the United Kingdom are farther down the path of adding wind and solar to their electric grids and their people are paying about triple our electric rates and theirs are climbing even higher. It is causing the deindustrialization of Germany.

Trump is going to face heavy resistance to changing the wind and solar at any cost mindset. Even though the Orwellian named Inflation Reduction Act was passed without a single Republican vote and with Kamala Harris’s tie-breaking vote in the Senate. They told us it would cost $369 billion and instead it is likely to cost trillions. While Trump cannot claw back IRA subsidies that have been committed, he can at the very least slow walk future taxpayer money giveaways.

If we continue adding wind and solar, batteries and the very expensive thousands of miles of transmission wires needed to move that electricity to the cities where it is needed, our electric rates will continue to skyrocket, as President Obama told us they would in his war on clean coal. Trump will reverse the incredibly expensive Biden EPA regulations to close our reliable coal plants and will make natural gas electricity far more expensive. This will help, but it isn’t the whole solution.

Trump will also unleash the coal, natural gas, and oil industries in our country. This will jump start our economy. It will create more high paying jobs and create tremendous economic activity. He will remove the Biden so-called pause on LNG export terminals, which will unleash tens of billions of dollars of economic activity and create many short-term construction jobs and long-term jobs. In addition to the benefits for our economy it will help the Europeans with their natural gas supply. The EU has already signaled its interest in buying American LNG – which in turn, hurts Vladimir Putin’s war machine.

By opening up more federal lands and removing the regulatory roadblocks placed on oil and natural gas harvesting on federal lands, our federal Treasury will benefit in the billions over time. These companies pay royalties for the energy they harvest from the ground. They also pay taxes on it as well. Trump will also reinstate sanctions on Iran and Venezuela, two of the worst actors in the world. American energy will replace their loss of production, and the billions will stay here instead of enriching our enemies and funding their destabilizing efforts.

Trump is likely to end the push for the incredibly expensive offshore wind projects. Offshore wind is five times more expensive than other electricity generation and floating offshore wind is likely fifteen times more expensive. This will help our electricity prices and reliability

Trump has taken a strong stance against the climate hoax, as he and climate realists call it. The climate crazed have been propagandizing us and censoring the facts that don’t support their false narrative with the paid cooperation of mainstream media for decades. They are paid tens of millions of dollars to tell us that a gently warming world, since the end of the Little Ice Age, also known as preindustrial times, is somehow bad and will cause disaster. This simply isn’t true.

CO2 is necessary for life. It is airborne Miracle-Gro. One of the incredible stories is the increase in corn produced by a single acre of land in the United States. Corn yields track CO2 increases almost exactly. In 1900 we were getting about 28 bushels per acre and now we are getting 183 and setting yield records consistently.

Worldwide crop harvests and yields are up in nearly every crop and nearly every nation. NASA tells us the world is 35% greener than it was 40 years ago. These facts are ignored by the climate propagandists who are paid to make us afraid.

They have even been attacking our farmers’ ability to continue the progress with climate policies because of methane and nitrous oxide (fertilizers made with natural gas and the nitrogen in the air). There is no scientific reason to limit these tiny trace gasses that will take 270 years to double. In 270 years they will still be miniscule amounts in the atmosphere. Trump will reverse these efforts by the government climate activists.

Trump understands that we need affordable, abundant energy and will unleash Americans to get it. This will increase economic activity and benefit all Americans. It is time to end the “green” graft.
