Arizona authorities captured a man on Thursday afternoon that they believe threatened to kill former President Donald Trump during his visit to the border state.
The arrest comes hours after the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office launched the manhunt for 66-year-old Ronald Lee Syrvud.
The sheriff’s office said the arrest occurred around 2:30 p.m. local time, and the official charges are still pending, according to Fox News.
Not much is known about Syrvud, but he has outstanding warrants in Wisconsin for Driving Under the Influence. He is also wanted in Arizona for a hit-and-run, and a felony failure to register as a sex offender.
The threat to Trump’s life comes just over a month after another person attempted to assassinate him in Butler, Pennsylvania. Cochise officials said the suspect does not have any “known ties” to the Pennsylvania shooter.
