Zelensky Says Peace with Russia ‘Very, Very Far Away’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday night the end to his country’s now three-year war with Russia is  still “very, very far away.”

He spoke two days after a tense White House meeting with President Donald Trump effectively ended that beginning of U.S. brokered peace deal between Ukraine and Russia.

Zelensky said Sunday that he expects U.S. aid for Ukraine to continue.

“I think our relationship (with the U.S.) will continue, because it’s more than an occasional relationship,” he said, according to The Associated Press.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said over the weekend that Zelensky “needs to come to his senses and come back to the table in gratitude or someone else needs to lead the country to do that” so a peace deal can be reached with Russia and the U.S.
