House Republicans Launch Judicial Task Force that Targets ‘Rogue, Activist Judges’

Two House Republicans on Monday announced the creation of a judicial task force that will investigate “rogue, activist judges,” who have recently ruled against President Donald Trump in a series of legal cases.

Multiple federal judges have ruled against Trump in the past month, including one who blocked Trump’s executive order that limits transgender care for minors, and one who blocked his administration’s plan to reduce the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) by placing 2,200 employees on administrative leave.

The new task force, titled the “Judicial Activism Accountability Task Force,” will be led by Republican Representatives Andrew Clyde of Georgia and Eli Crane of Arizona.

“I’m excited to lead this critical effort with my friend and fellow patriot, Congressman Eli Crane,” Clyde (pictured above, right) told Fox News. “Our Judicial Activism Accountability Task Force aims to unite members in exposing judicial activism, with the ultimate goal of impeaching rogue, activist judges.”

Both Clyde and Crane announced last month that they were drafting articles of impeachment against “activist” judges.

“The American people delivered President Trump a mandate to disrupt the administrative state,” Crane (picture above, left) told the outlet. “These judges are violating the will of the people, and Congress has constitutional authority to impeach and convict these partisans.”

Tennessee GOP Rep. Andy Ogles has also introduced articles of impeachment against judges, including U.S. District Judge Amir H. Ali.

Ogles called Ali a “partisan activist” for his recent ruling giving the Trump administration less than two days to resume foreign aid funding paused under the president’s executive order.

“I’m drafting articles of impeachment for U.S. District Judge Amir H. Ali. Yet another PARTISAN ACTIVIST attempting to weaponize his position to block President Trump from cutting wasteful foreign funding,” Ogles wrote in a post published to X.

“Accountability is key,” Ogles added.

Amir was nominated by former President Joe Biden to become a U.S. District Judge in Washington, D.C. in 2024.
